6. Don’t make your student job your entire life
This is probably the most important part.
Your main reason for being in Canada as an international student is to study.
Working too many hours can affect your academic performance and, more importantly, exceeding the permitted off-campus hours can violate your study permit conditions.
So do not chase every extra shift just because you need the money.
Your education is still the bigger investment.
