What About Salary?
There is not one fixed salary for seasonal workers.
Your pay depends on the occupation, location, employer and applicable wage requirements.
For H-2B workers, employers must meet applicable wage requirements for the occupation and area of employment.
So don’t believe someone who tells you:
“Every H-2B job pays $30 an hour.”
That is not how it works.
Look at the actual job listing.
Check the hourly wage.
Check the expected hours.
Check whether overtime is available.
And check whether housing or transportation costs are involved.
Is This a Path to a Green Card?
This is another important reality check.
H-2A and H-2B are temporary worker programs.
Getting a seasonal work visa does not automatically give you permanent residence or a green card.
If your long-term goal is to permanently live in the United States, you would need to separately determine whether you qualify for another lawful immigration pathway.
So think of seasonal employment as:
A temporary work opportunity, not an automatic immigration shortcut.
