What Should You Do Before Applying?
This is where many scholarship applications go wrong.
Finding a scholarship is only the first step.
Before you start filling out applications, check:
1. Your academic level
Is the scholarship for bachelor’s, master’s or PhD students?
2. Your nationality
Some programmes are restricted to specific countries or regions.
3. Work experience
Programmes such as DAAD EPOS have specific professional-experience requirements.
4. Language requirements
Some scholarships require German proficiency even when the university programme is taught in English.
5. Application deadline
Don’t assume every scholarship has the same deadline. Some deadlines are set by individual universities or programmes.
6. Required documents
Start preparing your transcripts, CV, recommendation letters, motivation letter, passport and proof of language proficiency early.
