What Does “Proof of Funds” Actually Mean?
For a U.S. visitor visa, a consular officer may ask for evidence showing that you can afford the costs of your trip.
The U.S. Department of State specifically says applicants may be asked to provide evidence of their ability to pay all costs of the trip.
That could include evidence of:
* Your savings
* Employment or income
* Business income
* Other legitimate financial resources
* Someone else that is paying some or all of your expenses
If another person is paying for your trip, you can provide evidence of that arrangement.
